Wind tower questions

advertisement:

A few days ago, there was an article in the News-Banner in reference to Wind-towers. It was interesting to read.

I had a few questions in reference to the wind-towers. It was stated that an average wind flow of 25 to 35 miles an hour is needed to provide energy to the tower propellers. Where would the profitability be, if a substitute provider, such as a battery, fuel or propane converter would be used when the wind is not available to power the propellers?

How much land would be needed to lease for the towers? How about the care and maintenance of the towers? The wind-towers would be a source for the energy, but where would the energy be kept? Would the electric company buy the energy and would the land owner receive any compensation for his services?

From what I have read, there will be only one person who could profit from such a venture.

I wonder how long it would take for a land owner to see a profit from the land he leases and what the margin of profit would be.
