After reading the letter written by Mr. Cole, I was left wondering what information he believes has been fabricated. After all, accusations of people fabricating information are fairly serious and personal in nature. It seems like a fairly strong response to a respectful petition made by a constituent to the elected body that represents him. As a reminder, my original letter was courteous enough not to mention names, but instead focused on the issues at hand.
This year in Indiana, thousands of people will be diagnosed with cancer. They will find themselves needing chemotherapy, radiation, and other medical care and they won’t be able to do it alone. They will need support, educational resources, and rides to and from their treatments. The American Cancer Society works within the local communities to supply these resources, but we realize that we can’t do it without a large driving force of volunteers.
Our great nation was founded, by a few people with vision, on the premise that all men are created equal and are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We became a solid body of like-minded individuals who believe in the Rule of Law. Over the years of our democracy, millions of men and women have fought and died for those constitutional rights - and rights of peoples of other nations who wanted the same style government enjoyed by Americans.
I have been out of town since the County Council meeting that Mr. Phillip Stoller attended and submitted a letter to the editor relating to the solid waste district. Mr. Stoller’s “facts” must have been created by him to sensationalize his position.
The health care plan mockingly labeled by some as “ObamaCare” will provide health insurance protection for 30 million citizens.
As I sat at the County Council meeting last night and listened to the discussion regarding the insolvency of the Solid Waste District, I was stuck by the similarities this problem shares with many of the great political questions of our time. Namely, elected officials, desiring to offer a service that can not be paid for. Solution: borrow.
In Mr. Art Windmiller’s Letter to the Editor on March 2 he stated that “the school board decided on their way, or no way.”
